Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
